Upper Bheri Hydroelectric Project (325 MW-PROR)
Upper Bheri Hydroelectric Project (UBHEP) is located in the Tripurasundari Nagarpalika and Mudkechula Gaupalika of Dolpa District, Karnali Pradesh, Nepal with an installed capacity of 325 MW. The project boundary extends between 28° 58′ 00” to 29° 02′ 32” north of latitude and 82° 35′ 00” to 82° 51′ 20” east of longitude. The catchment area at Intake is 4173.29 sq. km. with design discharge of 89m3/s. A concrete dam with gated spillway will be built across the Thuli Bheri River. The underground powerhouse cavern will house five (5) nos. of Pelton (Vetical Axis) turbine. The crest elevation of the overflow dam will be at 1935masl, dam crest length 60m and the height of the dam will be 48m from the river bed.
The power generated from Upper Bheri Hydropower Project is proposed to be evacuated either at the Bafikot Substation or the Nalgad Substation. Transmission line of 220 kV double circuit line up to Jagadulla substation, which is estimated to be less than 5 km from the project powerhouse.
The project is estimated to generate 1768.74 GWh of energy annually.
